A financial gift to Good Works helps us be agents of transformation providing HOPE to people who feel abandoned and forgotten. Contributions benefit people struggling with homelessness and poverty in rural Appalachia.

Your gift to Good Works, Inc. will make a difference!

With generous support from people like you, we can continue our work of repairing broken and shattered lives. We see the impact of your support every day. It is reflected at dinner time in the gratitude homeless people in our shelter have for a safe and clean place to stay and a hot meal. It is shown in their smiles when one of our residents finds a job, saves money or reaches a computer training goal in our Training for Life class. It is seen in the eyes of the children we serve each week at our Friday Night Life program. It is reflected as HOPE in the faces of the widows, seniors and citizens with disabilities we care for when we visit them in their homes. Whether we are helping someone get a car through the Transformation Station, providing a young single woman and her child with a place to stay or fixing a plumbing problem at the home of an elderly widow, your gift empowers us to be agents of transformation.

The Good Works budget this year is about $500,000. 78% of our funds come from private donors like you. Thank you for supporting us with your tax deductible donation as we provide a home for the homeless and a caring community for those struggling with poverty.

THE TIMOTHY HOUSE: By supporting Good Works, you are providing the rural homeless in nine counties a safe, clean and stable place to sleep, plenty of food, and the guidance of a loving and caring community which helps each resident work through the process of their recovery. Your gift also enables us to provide a community of hope composed of a wide range of different volunteers who surround the residents in love and care each day. Your gift also enables us to provide Training for Life (our computer class), our weekly Job Support group and regular support and guidance from our trained Caregivers. Almost half of those who stay in The Timothy House are first time homeless and 85% come from the nine rural counties in southeast Ohio that we serve. 2010 is the start of our 30th year of providing a caring community for the rural homeless of southeast Ohio.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIFE: Since 1993, Good Works has provided a hot, nutritious meal for up to 100-150 hungry people each week. Your support enables us to organize almost 500 different volunteers to supply food and educational programming to adults and children every week.

SAMARITAN PROJECTS, SENIOR FRIENDS, WORK CAMPS: For many years, Good Works has organized volunteers to serve widows and citizens with disabilities at their homes in rural Appalachia. Your support enables us to provide the leadership to organize these service opportunities for more than 500 different volunteers each year

Once again, thank you for your love and concern for the widow, the fatherless and the stranger. "Homelessness is a 'we' problem. It requires a 'we' solution."
