Francis and Gerry Gilkey have been apart of the Good Works community for nearly two years, so when they were faced with homeless they knew exactly were to turn.

“We lived at Good Works for four days…there help was a blessing,” Francis said. “They’re always willing to give anybody a home that needs one.”

Francis met Gerry in Tennessee, after they were married, 19 years ago, they came back to Ohio, but deciding they wanted to live out their married life here came with hardship.

“My husband fell ill and weren’t doing too well so our social worker suggested we come to Good Works,” she said.

When asked where’d she and her husband would be today without the organization’s help, Francis just shakes her head and sighs, “I don’t know, I just don’t know.” She says this with a far off look in her eyes, the thought of life without Good Works becoming almost too bearable to even consider.

Francis said Good Works gave them a home, a gift unsurpassed by anything she could ever recieve.

"They're good to people," she said. "It's that simple they help you when you need, wich is much more then most will ever do. I'm just so happy they helped us."
