The Hope Center

We broke ground on March 7, 2009!  Click here to read Keith's notes from his speech.

The Hope Center is intended to provide a large gathering space for the many groups who visit Good Works. At this time, Good Works does not have any indoor meeting space to accommodate groups larger than 10 people comfortably. Our vision is to create an area where visiting group (25-50 people) can easily gather together and where other group events can take place.

Over the years, God has provided us with the resources and facilities for the ministries that have been entrusted to us. While the ministry is about people, the facilities become tools for these ministries. These facilities have enabled us to respond to the needs of people in our community who are struggling with poverty. We believe that now is the time to move ahead with the construction of the Hope Center.

The facility is 1300 square feet and will hold a group of about 25-50 people and provide for office and storage space. It will attach to our existing Administration Building via a large covered deck, which will also provide additional gathering space outside.

Construction will begin in March 2009, with the foundation being completed by a local contractor. As with all our other construction projects, we are seeking volunteers who will assist us with the construction of the Hope Center. We will need people who can do framing, electrical, drywall, roofing, install windows and decking. We will also need those who are willing to just help out as needed. Construction will continue throughout the year and into 2010 if needed. Just like all of the previous Good Works construction projects, we will use those people God sends to us to do the work.

We estimate that the cost of materials to build this new facility will be about $75,000.00.

Since 1981, we have relied on people who joyfully desire to participate in the Community of HOPE to make this ministry possible. This includes the day-to-day operations and the ongoing development of building up this ministry to respond to the needs of our friends in this community who are struggling with poverty. Thank you for being part of this history!
