Why do we call this a donation?
Although this could be called a fee that is due, we prefer to consider it a donation. We want the Work Camp Program to be accessible to all groups of various economic levels. Each year we have a few groups come that are not able to give the requested amount to us. Please do not allow these expenses to stop you from coming and serving with us. We recognize that for some churches and groups this donation request is not excessive. For others, this guideline is too much. We would like to adjust this donation according to the circumstances of your group. If you find that this suggested amount is too much, please discuss this with us so we can work with you to come up with a more workable option. Your presence with us and the relationships that will form is what is most important to us.
These donations are the primary financial resource to fund the maintenance and development of the Good Works properties and facilities. This also helps to defray the expenses associated with your stay in the Hannah House. Most importantly, your support enables the ministry of our staff and volunteers, including your group, to make an impact into countless lives of people in our community.May the following serve as a guideline...
…for the Summer Service groups coming from June- August
We ask for a commitment of $3,000 for a minimum group size of 15 people. Each additional person will make a commitment of $175.
Out of the $3,000 total, we ask for a deposit of $375. This is due with your application and is non-refundable. It will hold your scheduled dates. Make your check payable to Good Works, Inc.-Work Camps. If you cancel your scheduled dates, the $375 deposit can be used for a new date scheduled within the same calendar year. However, we cannot guarantee you another available date. If you are unable to reschedule within the same calendar year, we cannot refund the deposit.
Of the remaining balance, $1,325 is due June 1. Please add $75 per additional person. This can be sent to us. This deposit is non-refundable after it is received. If you must cancel your scheduled Work Camp, you may reschedule another during the current calendar year, but we cannot guarantee an available date.
The balance of the donation can be given after your arrival at Good Works for your week of service.…for week-long groups coming from September - May
Good Works does receive groups for weeks of service outside of the Summer Service Program. This can be on a more flexible schedule to meet the needs of your group. Please discuss this with us prior to sending in your application. We ask for a deposit of $150 per work group. This is due with your application and is non-refundable. It will hold your scheduled date. Make your check payable to Good Works, Inc.-Work Camps. If you cancel your scheduled dates, the $150 deposit can be used for a new date scheduled within the same calendar year. However, we cannot guarantee you another available date. If you are unable to reschedule within the same calendar year, we cannot refund the deposit.
In addition, we ask that each member of the group make a contribution of $20 per night of stay in the house. The individual donation is payable after you arrive at Good Works. A staff person will do an orientation specifically with the group leaders at which time you can give him/her this in the form of cash or check, whichever is convenient for you.…for weekend groups coming from September - May
We ask for a commitment of $100 from the group that is due as a non-refundable deposit with the application. This will hold the date of service for your group. If you cancel your Work Camp, the deposit can be used for another date in the same calendar year. However, we cannot guarantee you another available date. If you are unable to reschedule within the same calendar year, we cannot refund the deposit.

We often get groups who want to come out and serve for a morning or an afternoon, which we welcome. There is no requested donation for these groups, although any donation you make will be very much appreciated and will go toward the ongoing needs of this ministry. There is also no deposit required with your application.
