Good Works welcomes groups who want to do a short-term mission trip for a day or a weekend. Often churches or civic groups who are looking for a short-term service opportunity come to Good Works. While service is one motivation to come, some groups are also seeking to strengthen the community aspect of their group.
Occasionally a one-day group will make a weekend of their visit, arriving on a Thursday or Friday and leaving on Sunday. In this case you may be able to participate or sponsor Friday Night Life as part of your time with Good Works. This will require arriving by 4:00. If this is not possible, you are still welcome to come and spend the night. We have found that this is a great way to prepare for Saturday’s day of service.
Your group will provide us with help that is very much needed in the care of our properties as you come and spend a day with us. You may be involved with yardwork, painting, gardening, construction, wood splitting and other projects associated with the upkeep of the facilities and grounds managed by Good Works. You may also help with some of the projects that we do to develop these properties.
Samaritan Projects is another ministry that you may be involved with. We provide volunteers to low-income, disabled, and senior homeowners in the area. We seek to do a wide range of projects based on the skill levels of our volunteers that will enable people in the neighborhood to continue to live safely and securely in their homes.

ONE-DAY MISSION TRIPS - How you can participate in a one-day work camp.
Read the information in the Work Camp Manual that would apply to your group and then talk with them about what they would like to do. Try to get some idea of dates you would like to work together. Here are some suggested schedules as an option for a one-day group:
- 8:30 - 12:00
- 12:30 - 4:00
- 8:30 to 4:00 with a lunch break
Next, call Paul Richard at 740-594-3336 to get some particular information for your group and to set the date. You may also contact us by e-mail at goodworks@good-works.net. The forms that you need will then be e-mailed to you. |
With regard to donations, Good Works operates through the generosity of people like yourself who give to this ministry. Groups who stay with us in the Hannah House for several days, provide a donation to help with the projects they will be working on and the expenses related to their stay. Your group can also make a donation to help with the operation of this ministry, but it is not required. As much as we depend on the support from people who come to visit us, we are much more interested in your presence and participation.
WEEKEND MISSION TRIPS - How you can participate in a weekend work camp.

With regard to donations, Good Works operates through the generosity of people like yourself who give to this ministry. We request a deposit of $100 for weekend groups. We also request a donation of $20 per person per night of stay. This helps with the projects you will be working on and the expenses related to your stay. Please read the document Requested Donations for more information about this.
One of the advantages to the Weekend Mission Trip is that it provides the group with an extended time together and becomes a kind of “Work Retreat”. Not only does the group get to serve those in our community, but they get some time to invest in one another. |
