Hi!  I'm Anne Wilson.  My first experience with Good Works was in 2003 when I came for a summer internship.  It was a relatively short amount of time, but something changed in me through my summer here.  I think it had something to do with being a part of a community of people who really worked at loving each other and extended that love to anyone they found themselves with – especially people who may have been forgotten or overlooked in some way.

After that summer I felt a strong desire to return to Athens and the Good Works community, but had no idea how or even if this could happen.  I finished college and spent a couple years in China before returning to my hometown east of Columbus, still unsure of what my next step would be and still feeling a pull to this community.  Through this time of feeling drawn but not knowing what to do about it I was able to re-connect with people here and was offered the opportunity to join the Timothy House as a Care-giver.  What an unexpected gift!

So in August of 2007 I found myself back in Athens and have continued at the TH since that time.  I remember coming back and wanting to learn how better to love God and to love people, and really, to love all things.  I still want to learn this.

I want to delight in life and in relationships, in working and playing and resting.  These days I’m finding much joy in walking, beetles, birds, letters, sharing time with friends and family, working in the garden, reading good books, and baking experimental breads and cookies for sharing.  I feel grateful to be living and to have a life with which to love.
