Catherine recently re-joined the Good Works staff after spending time volunteering overseas with her husband Ben. She worked as the Director of Caregiving for GW from January 2003 through August 2005.
Catherine became introduced to GW while she was an OU student studying counseling. GW seemed to be the kind of place where she could combine her education and training with her faith. She didn’t know exactly what she would experience, but took a step of faith to begin working with the homeless in SE Ohio.
As a Caregiver and the Director of Caregiving, Catherine was challenged personally and professionally. She loved the community formed by the staff, volunteers, and residents. She learned a lot about loving and serving others during that time. Her work was often demanding, but was also full of rewards. She believes that caring for the people at the Timothy House helped her to understand more about the Kingdom of God.
In June, she returned to the GW community as a part-time staff worker, and will be working on Special Projects.
