CORY BLACKWELL, who joined the GW staff in August of 2007, is originally from the small city of Quincy, Illinois, and has been married to the lovely Mieke (pictured with him below) since August of 2004. After going to college in Canton, Missouri, he attended Asbury Theological Seminary (in Wilmore, Kentucky), where he first heard Keith Wasserman speak about the ministries of Good Works.

Since high school, Cory has felt an unyielding pull of God on his life—noting that the life that Christ gives us demands nothing less than the complete dedication of ourselves and all we have to the will and worship of God. In accordance with this, God has worked on his heart in order to aim it towards those who have been stricken with poverty and marginalized by society.

Cory is honored and humbled to be a part of God’s working in SE Ohio through Good Works and to have the privilege of working with (not just serving to) those who find themselves in the desperate circumstances of poverty and homelessness.
