CORY BLACKWELL, who joined the GW staff in August of 2007, is originally from the town of Quincy, Illinois, and has been married to the lovely Mieke (pictured with him below) since August of 2004. After going to college in Canton, Missouri, he attended Asbury Theological Seminary (in Wilmore, Kentucky), where he first heard Keith Wasserman speak about the ministries of Good Works.
For some time, I have felt a continual pull of God on my life—believing that the life that Christ gives us demands nothing less than the complete dedication of ourselves and all we have to the will and worship of God. In accordance with this, God has worked in my heart in order to aim it towards those who have been marginalized by the larger society.
It is my prayer to follow the example of Christ and to better love my neighbors. Like the apostle Paul, I desire to “know Christ and him crucified” (1 Cor 2:2) and to have that expressed in perfect love for others.
I am honored and humbled to be a part of God’s working in SE Ohio through Good Works and to have the privilege of working with those who find themselves in the desperate circumstances of poverty and homelessness.
