TAD was born of old, pioneer family stock of the Athens area. He is a graduate of Federal Hocking High School. He attended Colorado College and graduated from Ohio University with several majors and minors in the Liberal Arts field, to include the areas of political science, history, philosophy and anthropology. An emphasis on international relations, religion and cultural studies was at the center of his educational thrust.  He also indulged in the humanities. He is currently pursuing additional college course work in journalism, writing and publishing.

He studied the seminary through the United Brethren Church and was ordained as a minster in 1998. Through his involvement in rural churches, serving the local communities, has helped him grow in his faith. Tad says, "To be a fruit bearing tree, we must bear fruit. The sweet nectar of spiritual fruit, that God commands us to germinate and grow, has a 'don't tell me, show me' taste."

Tad says, "I believe in community. Any effort to reconcile the woes of society in it's entirety, must first sow it's seed in the community. I am deeply enriched by my experiences at Good Works Inc. Good Works is a community of hope. When the forgotten people of any community, can embrace hope, they dare to dream. Then, they can manifest their rightful destiny as an entitlement, proclaimed for all of God's children by God."
